First, where can I find some good builds that don't use elite skills?

Second, can someone put into words the basics behind a good build?

From the builds that I have seen it seems like
1) Some kind of buff - something that builds adrenaline
2) Some kind of defense
3) An attack to use until your adrenaline gets built
4) something that starts a process that you can build on like sever artery with the sword or Hammer Bash
5) Something to capitalize on the #2 Crushing Blow or gash

7) Healing Signet
8) Res signet

Basic template for a warrior...

Elite attack skill
Attack skill
Attack skill
Attack skill/utility
Flail/Frenzy
Utility/speed buff stance (must have for PvP)
Utility
Res

14 Weapon mastery minimum
Rest split betwen Tactics/Strength/secondary attribute depending on skills.

... where utility is an interrupt like [skill=text]Distracting Blow[/skill], condition removal such as [skill=text]Mending Touch[/skill], defensive skills or heals like [skill=text]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill] and [skill=text]Healing Signet[/skill], or damage buffs like [skill=text]Conjure Lightning[/skill] or [skill=text]"For Great Justice!"[/skill].

Yes I understand that but you don't start out with Elite skills and it takes a fairly long time to get to the point that you can acquire them so when new players come to the forum and try to learn how to play the game better it's useless to tell them to use all these builds full of elite skills.

Thanks Alex, that's more along the lines of what I am looking for.

It's not hard to find a build with an elite in it and replace it with a non elite. Alot of elites are just a modified non elite anyway.

Example 1: [wiki]Cleave[/wiki] is like [wiki]Executioner's Strike[/wiki] @ half adrenaline

Example 2: [wiki]Eviscerate[/wiki] is [wiki]Executioner's Strike[/wiki] + [wiki]Dismember[/wiki]

Just throw in a random attack skill if it comes to not having any idea of what to do, you can't do too much wrong with an attack skill.

Also if you are using PvP points to unlock skills to you can purchase them at a skill trader you could also purchase an Elite Tome and learn any elite skill that you unlock this same manner.

If your in prophicies the first real good war elite you come accross is almost half way or longer into the game(assuming your following the story completely). In other chapters you can get excellent elite skills fairly early on so its worth the time and effort to look for them.
